Something I learned from this class? I supposed to…learn
something?
Joking, joking.
I really did learn a lot in this class but I think what I
learned that will be the most useful in my future career is andragogy.
Andragogy is the method and practice of teaching adults. I
think I have made it very, very clear in previous blog posts that I have no
interest in teaching. However, andragogy can easily be applied to my future
dream career. I want and am going to work in a publishing house, collaborating with authors editing their novels and working with them to help them make their writing the best it can be. I am going to work
in a publishing house. It is not something up for debate, it will happen. As
soon as I graduate.
If you want to read my previous blog post on andragogy and
how it will apply to my future career, here is the link: http://colleenlizz.blogspot.com/2015/09/oh-so-thats-definition-of-andragogy.html
I hope you did learn a lot from the course. If you're only going through the motions of a course then you're wasting time that is precious. I agree, principles underlying andragogy are very smart, and very much directly related to good teaching, to good work with others in their editing, etc.
